“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2 Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. 3 For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.” Colossians 3:1-3

First comes a death to our former life, our former ways of living cannot inherit the Kingdom life (I Cor. 15:50). We cannot experience and have this “real life that is hidden with Christ in God” until we first die to our former ways of living. The bible call this repentance. Repentance is simply turning from our ways of doing things and embracing a new way, a better way.

The word of God states that “IF” have been raised, we are to be constantly seeking the things that are above, meaning in heaven where Jesus is now seated. We set our mind on things as verse two states. Jesus taught us this when he was asked by the disciples on how to pray. “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth AS IT IS in heaven…” When we have this heavenly identity with Christ fix in our hearts and minds we begin to understand, see and experience a life hidden in Christ. We not only have a different perspective but we also begin to live a life that deeply reflects the love that Christ displayed for us. We begin to see the prayer that Jesus had with His Father lived out… “Holy Father, keep them in your name, which you have given me, that they may be one, even as we are one.”
